About our Artistic Director, Daniel C. Blosser...

Daniel C. Blosser is an active conductor, singer, and educator in Indiana and throughout the Midwest. He has conducted choruses in collegiate, volunteer, and professional settings and has worked with singers from elementary school through adult. Mr. Blosser is a member of the music faculty of the University of Indianapolis, teaching private voice and performing on the Faculty Artist Series concerts, and serves and the director for the choral division of the Vocal Arts Institute. He has also soloed with the Muncie Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra, the Lafayette Bach Singers, and the Bach Collegium of Fort Wayne, IN. Mr. Blosser is a founding member of the Meridian Vocal Consort in Indianapolis, and also sings with the professional choirs Mon Choer, KammerBach, and Apollo’s Voice. A seasoned high school teacher, Mr. Blosser is the Director of Music at Covenant Christian High School in Indianapolis.

Mr. Blosser received his Masters of Music in choral conducting from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he studied conducting with Jan Harrington and William Jon Gray and studied voice with Scharmal Schrock. His experiences there ranged from conductor of the Motet Choir to assistant director of the International Vocal Ensemble conducted by Mary Goetze. His IU performance credits include the tenor aria soloist for J.S. Bach’s Johannes Passion, Bach’s Magnificat, Respighi’s Lauda per la natività del Signore, Rossini’s Le Nozze di Teti di Peleo, and the Christmas Vespers of Chiara Margarita Cozzolani. Additionally, he conducted concerts and recitals featuring the music of Benjamin Britten, W.A. Mozart, and Johannes Brahms. He also holds a BM in Music Education from the University of Indianapolis where he was the Claire Chrysler award winner in 2002.

 

About our Accompanist, Barbara Briner-Jones...

Barbara Briner-Jones, accompanist for Masterworks Chorale since 1983, is a native of Muncie, Indiana. She is a graduate of Ball State University with a B.A. degree in music and an M.A. degree in piano accompanying. During her years at Ball State, she studied piano with Catherine Rutledge and Michel Bourgeot. She served as accompanist for the University Singers and for Ball State Concert Choirs under the direction of Don Neuen, George Corwin and Robert Rockabrand. She has accompanied for many student and faculty recitals at Ball State. Ms. Briner-Jones is currently a staff accompanist in the Ball State University School of Music.
